Photographer Dominik Asbach from Duisburg portrays originals from the area. He sees the “Glanz, Gesocks und Gloria” series as a homage to the past, the people – and the region. The star shows a selection.
If you cross the Ruhr area and use the well-known A 40, a motorway that has the misleading name “Ruhrschnellweg”, so if you choose this tangent through the district, you will eventually come across a building that is world-famous in the region at Wattenscheid. “D&W”, the legendary car accessories company. Rims, more rims, tires, more tires, everything to do with cars, really: everything. A temple for petrolheads. Movies have already played here, “Manta, Manta” for example, because the manta density was once nowhere higher in the republic. And ergo, logo, also the undisguised type of Manta driver.
