Dolly Parton: novel debut “Run, Rose, Run” – culture

Of course, when Dolly Parton writes a novel, she doesn’t write a novel. When Dolly Parton writes a novel, she sets in motion a glittering machine of great entertainment and best feelings. But let’s start again: When Dolly Parton presents her novel “Run, Rose, Run”, it was actually written by James Patterson, a bestseller machine with several million books sold and a similar number of dollars in the account. Co-writer Dolly Parton is also releasing an album of new songs said to be inspired by the story (or vice versa), with lyrics reprinted at the back of the book. Dolly Parton has long since sold the film rights to the novel to Reese Witherspoon’s production company and will, of course, be starring in the planned film adaptation. It is quite possible that the musical version of the novel is already being rehearsed at this very moment in “Dollywood”, Dolly Parton’s very own amusement park in Knoxville, Tennessee.
