Does the American owner of TFC want to resell the club?

Four seasons and then gone? According to the American media Bloombergspecialized in finance, the American shareholder of TFC is at the beginning of “a feasibility study” to possibly resell the Toulouse club. RedBird Capital Partners, founded by businessman Gerry Cardinale, bought 85% of the shares in TFC from Olivier Sadran in the summer of 2020 for 10 to 11 million euros.

The investment fund was left with a hollow nose since the Violets have since returned to Ligue 1 and even brought home the Coupe de France last spring on the Place du Capitole. But their qualification for the Europa League posed problems in the off-season because RedBird also owns AC Milan and the same owner cannot field two clubs in UEFA competitions.

TFC officials, including Gerry Cardinale, therefore had to resign from the TFC board of directors this summer. These events, a possible advantageous valuation of the club and the ongoing renegotiation of Ligue 1 TV broadcasting rights, would, according to Bloomberg, contribute to the reflections of the American shareholder, who refuses to confirm the information.

“No comment” also at the Stadium offices, in the Pink City.
