“Do it like a rave…”… Investigation opened against a professor at Panthéon-Assas University

“Do it like a rave…” This Monday, several reports were made to the Ministry of Higher Education about a professor at the University of Paris-Panthéon-Assas, report our colleagues at BFM TV. The reason for these reports: a teacher allegedly made inappropriate comments related to the conflict between Hamas and Israel to his students on the Vaugirard campus (15th arrondissement).

According to media information, confirmed by those close to the minister, Sylvie Retailleau, the professor asked his students if they needed “rockets to wake them up” before telling other students that he was going to “do like at the rave”, a direct reference to the attack on a rave party in Israel which left 260 dead.

An administrative investigation opened against the professor

If the university has “initiated an administrative investigation”, the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF) requested, via its X account (formerly Twitter), the exclusion of the professor.

For her part, Sylvie Retailleau said she was “furious” and “shocked” according to those around her.
