‘Do it, do it, do it’: 91% of Salvadorans Support the work of Nayib Bukele

A survey conducted by one of the leading daily newspapers in El Salvador – La Prensa Grafica – stated that President Nayib Bukele has the support of 91% of locals.

The media are known for their opposition to the ongoing political regime in the Central American country, leading Nayib Bukele to suspect that the real number may be higher.

Bukele also shared the results on Twitter, suggesting that the actual figure may be higher due to La Prensa Grafica’s previous criticism of his policy.

Bukele, 41, is known as a supporter of Bitcoin, with the local government launching a number of initiatives focused on the digital currency. The most striking example is the legal use of BTC within El Salvador’s borders.

Bukele recently revealed that El Salvador has become even more attractive to tourists. With tourism growing 95%, he believes bitcoin is one of the factors behind the trend.
