Djokovic withdraws and heads to Rome and Roland-Garros

No Nole in Madrid. As in 2023, Novak Djokovic will not appear in the Spanish capital to play the second Masters 1000 of the season on clay, confirmed Serbian journalist Sasa Ozmo. The record holder for the number of Grand Slam titles therefore reproduces the pattern of last season (which was rather successful for him).

After his semi-final in Monte-Carlo (defeat against Casper Ruud), Djokovic skipped the Spanish box to initially focus on Rome, where he had only reached the quarter-finals last year, before attack the defense of his title, Porte d’Auteuil.

Van Assche enters the main draw

The withdrawal of the world number one makes one happy among the French: Luca Van Assche, first on the waiting list, will enter the main draw in Madrid, where Jannik Sinner will be seeded number 1.
