Djamel Benlamri’s first European experience, at the age of 30, was (very) short. Great architect of Algeria’s victory at the 2019 African Cup of Nations, the central defender has indeed formalized his signing on Wednesday in Qatar SC. Arrived at the end of the 2020 transfer window at OL for one season, he could only experience eight appearances in 2020-2021 (in all competitions), including three as the holder, and was not extended by the Lyon club.

His debut was however more than convincing, with thirty-eight minutes in a register of ultimate “warrior”, November 1 in Lille to preserve the draw (1-1) outnumbered.
