DJ Hyperdrive plays on Saturday evening in the Rote Sonne – Munich

When DJ Hyperdrive plays, the name says it all. With fast, driving sets he forces his audience to dance, combining trance, hard and psytrance sounds. This creates a trippy atmosphere that sounds less dreamy than pulsating and euphoric. Robin Mateus, as the Berlin artist’s full name is, called his style “Groovetrance”.

A combination of apparent opposites, which, however, fit together wonderfully in DJ Hyperdrive. If you want to see for yourself, come to the Munich techno club Rote Sonne this Saturday. The musician plays there together AISHA and the duo Bebi2Bebi on.

DJ Hyperdrive originally comes from Dortmund. There he was socialized as a musician with dancehall and reggae, as he said in the interview “Electronic Beats” told. This may also explain his feeling for danceable sequences and the often warm timbres of his sets.

For a while, the young musician was part of the Cologne collective “Purest Health” before moving to Berlin to develop his own style. Since then he has enjoyed a stellar career. Party series such as Synoid, Crude and Bottom Topixx are part of his portfolio. Likewise the Berlin project “BCCO”, where he recently released the mix “Sunday Service”.

Last year, DJ Hyperdrive played his first “Boiler Room” set at the Glitch Festival in Malta – his biggest highlight as a DJ to date, as he says. For around an hour he puts the audience around the DJ booth in summer euphoria and transfers this mood to the audience at home in the first few seconds.

All of this makes you want more and so it’s fitting that DJ Hyperdrive is playing in Munich again this Saturday after more than two years and in the best company: AISHA, DJ and producer, traveled from Glasgow. It may set the pace for the evening. Bebi2Bebiconsisting of Alina Viktoria and Dominic aka DJ “stud”, catches it.

Whether in this order or the other way around: In terms of sound, the line-up promises a mixture of different types of trance.

Aisha / Bebi2Bebi / DJ Hyperdrive, Saturday, February 17th, 11 p.m., Red sunMaximiliansplatz 5
