DJ and producer Theresa Bittermann combines music and feminism – Munich

If Theresa Bitterman33, wants something, then she does it herself. In Munich clubs and at festivals like Christopher Street Day, the queer DJ has the name bi man and started producing music himself last summer. “I want to promote a feminist practice with my music,” she says, creating her own genre that she calls “postfemale crossover.” But that’s not all: she wants to revolutionize the club scene, fight inequalities and strengthen minorities. Together with other cultural workers, she founded the collective WUT, which campaigns against sexism and discrimination in nightlife. Her songs have titles like “Toxic Masculinity”. At the beginning of July, she signed a record deal with the Berlin label Springstoff, back from a tour through Colombia and a festival she initiated in Bogotá. Of course, feminist tracks will now follow.
