“Diversity is a theme that touches me” says rapper Chiloo

In the management of the famous Ferber studio in Paris, Chiloo measures the entire path travelled. Him, this former teenager tortured and full of doubts. “I could not express what I felt orally during adolescence. Writing, it really saved me on certain points, confides the rapper. I have always rubbed shoulders with people with different cultures, opinions and values”. A child of the 19th arrondissement of Paris, a “very popular and multicultural” district according to him, Chiloo advocates diversity and self-affirmation. “Diversity is a theme that touches me. It opens the mind,” he says.

As part of the campaign “Never too proud launched in June by the fresh fruit and vegetable association (Interfel), the singer agreed to play the game by recording several of his titles to pay tribute to diversity. An artist with committed texts, Chiloo denounces, for example, feminicides and harassment in his title “L au pluriel”. Another cause close to her heart: gender equality. “Rapper and feminist, I don’t know if it should be linked,” says Chiloo. Would we ask a classical pianist or a singer who does variety if he is a feminist? The real question is: are you a man who advocates equality regardless of musical style? “.
