Extensive technical disruptions occurred on Whatsapp on Tuesday. Messenger service users reported on Twitter and other channels that they could no longer send messages. Also at the portal alleerrors.de many users reported a WhatsApp failure. At around 8.40 a.m. there were hardly any reports, an hour later there were already more than 200,000.
The reason for the disruption is currently unknown. The service belongs to the Facebook group Meta. A meta spokesman said: “The company is aware that some users are experiencing messaging issues and is working to restore service to all.”
In addition to Germany, other countries are also affected, including Great Britain, India, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong.
