District Office maintains the neighborhood – District Administrator in dialogue – Dachau

The Dachau District Administrator Stefan Löwl is also chairman of the German-Polish Committee in the Council of European Municipalities and Regions. In this role, the CSU politician took part in the virtual meeting of the German-Polish government commission for regional and border cooperation, which took place shortly before Christmas. The agenda included dealing with the Covid pandemic in Poland and Germany, the 30th anniversary of the German-Polish neighborhood treaty and the green transformation as a development opportunity in Europe. “Also because of our district partnership, it is particularly important to me to maintain the dialogue with our Polish friends,” said District Administrator Löwl after the conference. Despite all the tensions between the national governments, he believes it is important “that differences and disagreements between equal partners are discussed in a constructive dialogue.”

The German-Polish government commission is a permanent body of German-Polish cooperation. The commission was set up on the basis of the 1991 treaty between Germany and Poland on good neighbors and friendly cooperation.
