Serious accident in Lower Saxony: Five people fell from a balcony and were seriously injured, according to the police.
Five people fell from the balcony of a family home in Fürstenau near Osnabrück and all suffered serious injuries. A police spokesman for the Osnabrück Police Inspectorate told the German Press Agency on Sunday evening that the wooden railing on the balcony had worn off. The reason for this is still unclear.
“The injured have come to different hospitals, one of them by helicopter,” the spokesman continued. A police statement had previously said that people had also been hit or buried by debris.
The spokesman could not initially say whether the whole balcony was torn down in the accident. According to the information, further information on the case will not be published until Monday.
