District of Munich – Unemployment rate stable at 2.3 percent – District of Munich

Unemployment in the district of Munich fell further in June. The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 2.3 percent, although refugees from the Ukraine were newly accepted into the basic security system and are looked after by the job centers. Including the people registered in unemployment insurance without a job, there were 4516 people without a job in the district in June. That’s 24 fewer than in May. In June, 1,899 people were registered in the district’s job center, which is an increase of 66 people compared to the previous month. According to the agency, in the entire agency district, which also includes the state capital, there has been a short-term increase in unemployment by 0.2 points to 3.9 percent because of the refugees. According to the labor market report, a total of 3,138 Ukrainian refugees were registered as unemployed in the district. The labor market is robust overall. In the meantime, companies were desperately looking not just for skilled workers, but simply for workers.
