District of Munich – The vaccination center in Haar closes forever – District of Munich

It will be over on Saturday, December 31 – almost exactly two years after the start of the Corona vaccination campaign. The vaccination center in the former army barracks on Wasserburger Straße in Haar then finally ceased operations; the two vaccination centers in Oberhaching and Unterschleißheim closed in mid-December.

The Malteser relief service that operated the vaccination center in Haar, the largest in the district, draws a positive balance: on more than 700 vaccination days since December 27, 2020 – at that time vaccines were still in short supply – more than 200,000 Injections, about 300 a day on average. Most of them, around 180,000, in the vaccination center itself, others with their mobile teams in old people’s and nursing homes, facilities for the disabled and communal accommodation for those seeking protection.

In addition, the Malteser took their two vaccination buses to local vaccination appointments in the communities. More than 18,000 people were immunized against the corona virus on these occasions. In total, more than 860,000 injections were administered in the Munich district.
