District of Munich – Politics just gave up – District of Munich

Politicians have given up: There will no longer be contact person management in the schools, so it will no longer be determined who was in direct contact with a student and who may have been infected. The state government could not have given the virus any greater joy with its decision, it is rampant in schools like never before in this pandemic. What a wrong decision by the Söder government.

It is true that politicians recognized far too late that children and young people have suffered particularly in this pandemic. They have received little attention for far too long, have been left to their own devices in homeschooling and have been hardest hit by lockdown alongside the elderly. But drawing the lesson from this, to keep the schools open at all costs, cannot be the right way. This is how children and young people carry the virus into their families. The degree of spread in this way is likely to be enormous, since according to District Administrator Christoph Göbel, 50 percent of new infections in the Munich district alone can now be traced back to schools and daycare centers. However, this strategy not only endangers the relatives at home, but also teachers and employees at the schools – and of course the children and young people affected by an infection as well. Greetings from Long-Covid.

Anyone who wants schools and day-care centers to be infected should admit it openly and honestly. However, the state government does not dare to do this and instead refers to hygiene concepts and test strategies. Anyone who wants a real protection concept for teachers and students must not do without contact determination, isolation and quarantine as well as alternating and distance teaching. But if you just give up, you’ve already lost – and the virus won.
