District of Munich – Infection numbers are falling – District of Munich

There was a slight up and down in the seven-day incidence during the Christmas holidays in the Munich district. However, the trend is still down. On Monday, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported a value of 146.7, the lowest in the Munich area. 513 people have been shown to have been newly infected with the corona virus within a week. That sounds like good news, but the numbers shouldn’t give rise to high hopes that the situation may ease further. The highly infectious omicron variant is also on the advance here and could soon drive the numbers up again. The RKI also expressly points out that fewer tests and case reports are to be expected during the holidays and at the turn of the year; the actual epidemiological situation could therefore deviate from the published figures.
