District of Munich – IHK awards training scouts – District of Munich

Business:Apprentices promote vocational training

By Joshua Sans, District of Munich

The Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) for Munich and Upper Bavaria has recognized six trainees from the Munich district for their commitment as “training scouts”. As ambassadors for vocational training, the apprentices inform schoolchildren about everyday life in their training companies and the further training opportunities after graduation. “This dialogue at eye level is worth its weight in gold and is really well received. It gives the students an authentic picture of the opportunities and prospects that vocational training can offer them,” said Florian Kaiser from the IHK for Munich and Upper Bavaria during the Festive event at Lake Starnberg. The project is a cooperation between the Bavarian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and has been running since 2015. The campaign has already reached 54,000 schoolchildren. The project currently has more than 360 “training scouts”.
