If it gets loud on this Thursday morning, nobody needs to be alarmed: As in all of Bavaria, a siren test alarm will also take place at 11 a.m. in the Ebersberg district. In the event of fire and other emergencies, three continuous tones of twelve seconds each, with a twelve-second pause between the tones, are used to alert the emergency services of the fire brigade.
This is clearly to be distinguished from the one-minute howling tone that sounds when, on the occasion of serious dangers to public safety, attention is drawn to the fact that the population should pay attention to radio announcements.
