District heating customers at Eon sometimes have to pay exorbitant prices. They accuse the group of enriching themselves at their expense. The consumer advice centers are now considering taking legal action.

At the beginning, when Eon significantly increased the deduction for district heating for the first time, everything was fine for Susanne Rauth. “It won’t be that bad, we’ll manage it, we thought at the time,” she says. She and her husband should pay 31 euros more per month for their single-family home from January 1, 2022, a total of 155 euros per month for hot water and district heating.
