District – Energy Agency draws first annual balance – District of Munich

district:Energy agency draws first annual balance sheet

The interim balance after the first year of the Ebersberg-Munich energy agency served as a detailed inventory: 76 municipal properties in 14 municipalities were examined, over 1,800 pages of reports and recommended measures were drawn up. “This phase has been completed. Now it’s time to implement it,” said Professor Dominikus Bücker from the Institute for Sustainable Energy Supply GmbH (INEV) at the network meeting in Kirchseeon – the first in attendance since the network was founded in October 2020. Together with the energy agency, will the INEV will accompany the municipalities on their further path – and thus use enormous potential, as Willie Stiehler, Managing Director of the Energy Agency, explained: “The municipalities have set themselves the goal of saving 4990 MWh of primary energy per year with the planned measures. That corresponds to one annual savings of 1,331 tons of CO₂. ” That helps the environment, relieves the municipal budgets in the long term and is a role model for the citizens. “This is because the municipalities are proving that energy efficiency and effective climate protection are also possible with existing buildings,” says Stiehler. In a series of specialist lectures, experts gave an insight into the energy transition potential in the municipalities, presented funding opportunities and provided information about the possibilities of using battery-powered vehicles in building yards.
