District Court of Schweinfurt: fine for AfD MPs Graupner – Bavaria

The district court of Schweinfurt has sentenced Richard Graupner, a member of the state parliament, to a fine for violating official secrets. The chamber decided on Monday on 90 daily rates of 165 euros each, as a regional court spokesman announced. In addition, the AfD politician should pay a fine of 250 euros each for two administrative offenses – unauthorized data acquisition in two cases. The verdict in the appeal proceedings is not yet final.

For the defense of the AfD politician, the allegations of the public prosecutor’s office have not been proven – as in the first trial before the district court of Schweinfurt, they had demanded an acquittal. According to the prosecution, Graupner had passed on official secrets during his time as a police officer.
