With machetes and knives: a dispute in Berlin escalates – three people are critically injured

A clash broke out between two groups at the Dong Xuan Center Asian wholesale market on Friday. The argument escalates and weapons are quickly used. In the end, five people end up in hospital, some seriously injured.
Three people suffered life-threatening injuries and two others were seriously injured in a violent confrontation in Berlin-Lichtenberg. On Friday evening, a dispute broke out between two groups at a stand in the Asian wholesale market Dong Xuan Center, a police spokesman said on Saturday morning.
The argument escalated. Those involved used knives, machetes and wooden slats and injured each other, some seriously. The exact course of events and the reason for the dispute are still unclear, said the spokesman.
The five injured people were taken to a hospital. The police are investigating.
