The new Disney+ Basic streaming model is coming to the US in December. The deal: Users pay more – or they have to see advertising.

Disney+ will launch its new subscription model in the US on December 8, 2022. From then on, customers will have to pay more for streaming without advertising. More precisely: On Disney+ Basic, viewers can still access all content for the price of $7.99 per month, but they also have to watch advertising. At the same time, the ad-free version of Disney+ will be raised from its original price of $7.99 to $10.99 a month.

Price increase of 38 percent

The new price for the ad-free version has increased by 38 percent. If you don’t want to pay for it, you have to endure four minutes of advertising per hour on Disney+ Basic at the beginning. With one exception: No advertising should run in child profiles.

The US streaming service Hulu is also becoming more expensive, as “Variety” reports. Hulu with ads to increase from $6.99 to $7.99 per month With no ads, the subscription that previously cost $12.99 is now $14.99.

What’s coming in Germany?
