Mickey Mouse as a knife murderer? On January 1st, a trailer for the cheaply produced horror comedy “Mickey’s Mouse Trap” appeared on YouTube, among other things. In it, a killer in a mouse costume hunts teenagers on the grounds of an amusement park, and if the trailer had been released just a day earlier, the filmmakers would probably have been promptly sued. But with the turn of the year, the legendary Mickey Mouse, probably the most famous character in American pop culture, has become public domain – at least partially.
