Dismay and concerns after an intrusion into a high school

The violence which plagues the Pissevin district, in Nîmes, theater of territorial war for the control of drug trafficking, is spreading. The start of the school year was the subject of several acts of violence at the Gaston-Darboux vocational high school, separated from this district by an expressway.

The most serious concerns the intrusion of “a foreign person” into the establishment on September 7. A teacher tried to restrain him. He was the subject of death threats. The accused man fled. “The head of the establishment, informed, could note the presence of two people outside the establishment who could potentially be linked to the intrusion and hold “two objects” not identified to date,” specifies the public prosecutor of Nîmes, Cécile Gensac.

Attacks in front of the school

In the process, the staff exercised their right of withdrawal. Classes were not held on Friday morning. This Tuesday, Cécile Gensac announced the opening of an investigation into charges of intrusion and threats or acts of intimidation against people charged with public service missions. “The investigations aim to define the exact course of events, their context, as well as to identify the perpetrator(s) of the facts,” specifies the prosecutor.

A police vehicle is also parked in front of the establishment during the main entry and exit times for students. This is to avoid other attacks like those which took place during the first week of classes.
