They really are everywhere. The phenomenon of bedbugs is not an illusion. In addition to invading train stations, hospitals, cinemas, transport, these parasites have also decided to settle in schools. In Lille, it was in a primary establishment that an infestation was detected, we learned from the town hall on Tuesday.
The bad news came on Tuesday: “bedbugs were detected this afternoon in a classroom at the Cornette school, in Fives,” laments the city in a press release. A specialist company was commissioned to carry out a complete diagnosis of the establishment, revealing the infestation of two other classrooms in the school. The “precautionary” inspection of two other nearby schools ruled out a spread of the infestation.
No school closure planned
For the affected classes at the Cornette school, an intervention is planned for this Wednesday morning during which “mechanical and steam treatment will be applied” before a new inspection during the day. Only one classroom will remain inaccessible for several days. At this stage, the closure of the school is not envisaged and the city assures that the children will be able to be welcomed there from Thursday.
