The southwest of the country in particular is currently experiencing the heaviest rainfall ever recorded. Around 50,000 families are directly threatened.

At least 50,000 families in the Pakistani province of Balochistan are currently having to be brought to safety from their villages because of record flooding. Helicopters and boats are being used for rescue work after flash floods destroyed bridges and roads, Pakistani authorities said on Wednesday.
