Disappearance of Emile: a “suspect” identified? New searches underway

While the mystery surrounding the disappearance of little Emile still persists four months later, is the investigation taking a new turn? According to information from Parisian, new large-scale legal operations are being carried out by investigators this week. Around ten searches reportedly began on the morning of Tuesday, November 7.

This new research targets several locations in the commune of Vernet and surrounding areas, some in mountainous areas that are difficult to access. Others would focus on the homes and vehicles of people considered suspicious by investigators. The targets of these operations were determined through digital and telephone data.

Still according to our colleagues from Le Parisien, one of the searches stands out since it concerns, according to witnesses on site, a house located only a few meters from the home of Emile’s family in the hamlet of Haut-Vernet. “These are checks on individuals targeted by the investigation. There is nothing to confirm at this stage that the perpetrator is among them, but the searches may perhaps make it possible to identify a suspect.” , explained a source close to the investigation in the columns of the daily.

Four months after the disappearance of young Emile, 2 and a half years old, on July 8 from the hamlet of Haut-Vernet (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), the mystery remains unsolved. In October, the investigation focused on a young 16-year-old farmer, due, among other things, to a heated conversation that the young man had with Emile’s grandfather. The teenager had also been singled out by residents of the town claiming that he regularly drove fast in the streets of the village. However, the searches turned up nothing.
