In the sci-fi and action classic Demolition Man, Sylvester Stallone spends several decades in the freezer of a cryogenic detention center – lying motionless in a cold sleep before futuristic law enforcement officers finally thaw him out so he can get on with his life and the can still save the world. The situation is similar in reality with the Leipzig literature professor Dirk Oschmann, although there is at least one difference to draw attention to in a direct comparison: Oschmann woke himself up.
