Full physical effort: Actress Halle Berry has already broken two ribs in “Monster’s Ball”. For her latest film and her directorial debut, she fights herself as a martial artist.

In the drama “Bruised” (Injured), the 55-year-old plays the former MMA fighter Jackie Justice, who gets back into the ring after having worked as a cleaning lady for a long time. Suddenly she also has to take care of her little son. MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts.
Netflix released the trailer on Thursday evening, and the full film should be shown in individual cinemas from November 17th and on the streaming service from November 24th.
During the shoot, the Oscar winner (“Monster’s Ball”) broke two ribs, as she told the industry magazine “Entertainment Weekly” in August. When she broke her ribs while filming “John Wick: Chapter 3” in 2019, the work was interrupted for months. This time she didn’t want to inform an insurance company: “Because it was an independent film, we didn’t have a big budget. The director in me said, “I didn’t get this far and worked so hard to go home.”
