For the second day in a row, the angry taxis resumed their mobilization, this Tuesday, March 5, 2024 in the morning, around Toulouse. In particular, they carry out blockades at the toll barrier of Muret (Haute-Garonne), south of the Pink City.

Traffic remains complicated on the A64 near Roques, south of Toulouse. The taxis set up there early in the morning, at the Muret toll gate, allowing access to Toulouse and its ring road.

Taxis do not have not moved one iota since the beginning of the morning and are still mobilized at the Muret toll barrier, the only blockage point on the roads of the Toulouse metropolitan area at midday.

As a reminder, the various professional organizations in the sector are mobilizing to plead for the defense of “their social rights”, and to demand respect for the application of the Grandguillaume law which aims to regulate “public transport of people” and the market between taxis. , VTC and digital platforms such as Uber and Bolt. Finally, in terms of medical transport, taxis are still opposed to the obligation of shared patient transport.

At 7:40 a.m., the big traffic jam is still in place south of the Muret barrier of the A64, but a new slowdown is felt further north, as far as Bordelongue. More usual: traffic is also busy on the RN124 and the North ring road.

“It’s going to be a very, very long time to reach Toulouse,” adds Vinci Autoroutes, which nevertheless sees “a positive effect of what’s happening” on the A64: “usually, traffic jams settle between the barrier toll booth and the ring road junction. There, things run better than usual further north, since the toll barrier acts as a filter.”
And Vinci Autoroutes warns: this toll barrier, “this is the difficult point of the morning, but there could be other actions by taxis in the Toulouse region this Tuesday”.

A monster cap rose early this Tuesday, at the level of the Muret toll barrier, on the A64allowing access to Toulouse and its ring road, indicates Vinci Autoroutes.
Most of the toll barrier remains inaccessible, traffic remains possible only on the rightmost lanes, paralyzing traffic.
At 7 a.m., Vinci was already reporting “six kilometers of traffic jam, on all lanes, up to the Muret toll gate, which was occupied by taxis all night.”
