It’s not just angry farmers who want to be heard this Monday, January 29, 2024 in Lyon and the metropolis. Taxis are also demonstrating by organizing snail operations, filtering and blocking operations from 9 a.m. in the Lyon metropolitan area.
Taxi artisans are against a reform initiated by the Ministry of Health concerning patient transport. They denounce several measures and assure that the taxi profession is “in danger”. The demonstration will cause traffic jams and disruptions. The prefecture is already calling for avoid traveling on Monday.

8 a.m.: disruptions expected from 9 a.m.
Taxis are starting to gather in Lyon. The first disruptions due to the snail operation are expected around 9 a.m. this morning.
6 a.m.: Roads affected by the event and points to avoid
– from Limonest on the M6 metropolitan road, the northern ring road of Lyon (Portes de Valvert, Vaise, Rochecardon, Saint Clair) and the D383 ring road
– from Lyon 7th (Plaine des Jeux de Gerland), boulevard Chambaud de la Bruyère and the D383 ring road
– at the Villeurbanne / Porte de Cusset sector.
The taxis met at two strategic points from 8 a.m.: in front of the Gerland sports center in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon and at the Porte de Lyon area in Dardilly. They will then converge in two convoys towards the CPAM of Villeurbanne, cours Emile-Zola.
The convoy will then join together to reach the ARS headquarters in Part-Dieu and then the Rhône prefecture in the 3rd arrondissement.
