Dinslaken: Father admits to disposing of his daughter’s body (3) | Regional

Dinslaken/Oberhausen (NRW) – Incredible confession from a father (40) to the police: The man appeared at the station in Dinslaken on Friday and told the officers that his daughter (3) had died. He then weighted the body and threw it into the Rhine-Herne Canal near the Oberhausen Kaisergarten.

The Duisburg public prosecutor’s office immediately set up one Homicide commission, which now investigates the more precise background and evaluates traces.

According to current findings, the father is said to have locked his daughter in the basement of an apartment building in Dinslaken for several days – possibly as an educational measure. There he is said to have provided her with food and drink and kept checking on her.

But: When he checked on her again on the morning of last Sunday (October 1st), the girl was no longer alive. In the evening or early night of the same day he threw the body, weighted down, into the canal.

On the night of Saturday (October 6th to 7th), fire department divers searched for the girl and found her body. The dead child was found and recovered.

At the request of the Duisburg public prosecutor’s office, a forensic doctor performed an autopsy on the three-year-old on Saturday and found that she died because she had vomited porridge. The child had no other injuries that could have led to death.

The man from Dinslaken was brought before a judge on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and deprivation of liberty resulting in death. He issued an arrest warrant. The German has hired a lawyer and has not yet commented further.

The police are now looking for witnesses who primarily observed how the father dumped his daughter’s body in the Rhine-Herne Canal. Information to 0203/2800.
