A 65-year-old fisherman was found dead in the Ammersee on Saturday afternoon. The man has been missing since Friday. He had been fishing in a rowboat near Diessen on Thursday evening. His wife only reported him missing on Friday morning, as the man had often been fishing well into the night before. After police officers found the angler’s vehicle at the car park in Aidenried, a search was started with several water guards, an underwater drone, rescue dogs and a police helicopter. On Friday, the emergency services discovered the capsized boat of the 65-year-old in the southern area of ​​the lake, whereupon a unit of the technical relief organization was requested to search the lake with a sonar device. On Saturday, divers from the water rescue service finally recovered the body. According to their own statements, the police are currently assuming an accident.
