In the morning the Saarbrücken sky is gray, but it is not raining. The lawn in Ludwigspark looks good. This time nothing should stand in the way of the cup game between Saarbrücken and Mönchengladbach.

Green light for the quarter-finals to be made up DFB Cup between 1. FC Saarbrücken and Borussia Mönchengladbach: A few hours before kick-off (8.30 p.m./ZDF and Sky), the pitch in the Ludwigsparkstadion was inspected again by representatives of the state capital, the German Football Association (DFB) and the FCS been.

The grass is currently playable and has improved compared to Monday. The city said it was confident that the game could take place. In some places, the newly laid lawn should be repaired and completely mowed.

The cup game between the FCS and the Fohlen was canceled at short notice at the beginning of February because constant rain had made the pitch unplayable. The stadium turf had already been checked on Monday and found to be playable. The lawn had coped well with the unexpectedly large amount of rain the night before, according to a statement from the city on Monday. On Tuesday the weather also helped: In Saarland the sky was gray in the morning, but it remained dry.

The arrival of fans to the catch-up game, especially Borussia supporters from Mönchengladbach, around 300 kilometers away, is also made more difficult by the warning strike by the train drivers’ union GDL. This also started in Saarland early on Tuesday morning.
