Leverkusen (1st place, 52 points) and Stuttgart (3rd place, 40 points) are at the top of the league. Now the two meet in the quarterfinals of the DFB Cup each other. Kick-off is at 8:45 p.m.
Good news for VfB fans: Serhou Guirassy (27/Guinea) and Hiroki Ito (24/Japan) and their national teams were eliminated from the Africa and Asian Cups at the weekend. Both should be in the squad as early as Tuesday.
VfB sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth (44): “We have to see what condition they come back in and how they survived the long journey. We are confident that both will be in the squad on Tuesday.”
