DFB contacts preferred candidate Nagelsmann! The talks are ongoing

Will Julian Nagelsmann be the new national coach? Now there is gradual movement in the personnel!

After SPORT1-The DFB contacted Julian Nagelsmann for information. The conversations are ongoing!

Nagelsmann should be able to imagine working as a national coach – especially because of the unique opportunity to be a coach at a home European Championship. The name Nagelsmann is also being talked about within the team.

Because Jürgen Klopp is not available, Nagelsmann is the top candidate for the DFB leadership around President Bernd Neuendorf and Vice President Hans-Joachim Watzke.

Whether an agreement can be reached depends primarily on the financial conditions.

Nagelsmann is expected to earn around 6.5 million euros in annual salary at FC Bayern. It is unlikely that the financially strapped association can offer him so much – especially since the DFB also has Flick and his assistants Danny Röhl and Marcus Sorg on the payroll until the home European Championship. Flick alone is said to be entitled to up to 4.5 million euros after his release.

There would also be a need for clarification with FC Bayern – although the Munich team would be prepared to release Nagelsmann, who is under contract until 2026, at a “friendly price” (if necessary even just in the form of a friendly game) because they have the 36-year-old off their payroll want.

So far there has been no contact between the DFB and the FCB – but that could change soon.
