Developer STALKER canceled the addition of NFT to the new game after fans disagreed.

Previously, GSC Game World, the Ukrainian game development company behind STALKER and Cossacks, decided to include NFT tokens as part of the upcoming release of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl.

And within hours, fans of the game took to Twitter to attack GSC’s NFT integration for developers to remove parts of the NFT from the game. Enter the game on the blockchain. But it seems that the general public is not very open to it. for embracing the application of these new technologies

In a statement emailed to The Block, before GSC officially announced the NFT integration, GSC Game World CEO Evgeniy Grygorovych said:

“Considering the global trend of gaming, We can do more than just deliver an immersive gaming experience. where our players can go deeper into the game And we’re giving them a chance by delivering the first AAA game with a unique meta experience.”

As described in an earlier emailed statement, NFT will be part of the launch of the “STALKER Metaverse,” with users registering to receive in-game items starting in December. and will be auctioned in January

Included in the NFT release will be a new feature called “metahuman” in-game or non-player characters similar to NFT owners, which will be created by technology. The second batch of NFTs will be “high secretive genesis packs,” taking place in February. The Los Angeles-based NFT trading platform DMarket will facilitate such NFT trading.

GSC intends NFT to be only an option for players and does not apply to those who do not wish to purchase it.

However, fans of the STALKER franchise don’t seem to like the game developer’s suggestion of bringing in NFT, as can be seen in some of the responses to a post in the game developer. STALKER Metaverse official

The GSC later clarified its intentions with NFT but shortly afterwards deleted it.

Recently, GSC decided that they would avoid NFT use in the upcoming STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl.
