Deutsche Bank – Sewing earns well – Economy

At the end of Deutsche Bank’s restructuring phase, CEO Christian Sewing was rewarded with a slight salary increase. The total remuneration of the 52-year-old increased by around 110,000 euros to 8.9 million euros in 2022, as Deutsche Bank announced in its annual report. The institute, which was once plagued by losses, had its best result in 15 years last year. Thanks to higher interest rates and a flourishing trading business, Germany’s largest financial institution made a profit of five billion euros after 1.94 billion euros a year ago. The boost in earnings is also reflected in the bonuses. Deutsche Bank will pay a total of 2.1 billion euros in bonuses for 2022 and will thus remain at the level of the previous year. Deutsche Bank is cautiously optimistic for 2023 and expects earnings to rise.
