There are ‘reasonable grounds’ to believe Hamas committed rape, ‘sexualized torture,’ and other cruel and inhumane treatment of women during its surprise attack in southern Israel on October 7, a report from the United Nations has concluded. 

There are also ‘reasonable grounds to believe that such violence may be ongoing,’ said Pramila Patten, the UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict, who visited Israel and the West Bank from January 29 to February 14 with a nine-member technical team.

First female GP leader of BMA had to take sick leave after ‘she was subjected to sexist comments’

The first female leader of the British Medical Association’s GP committee took sick leave due to a sexist culture at the union.

Dr Farah Jameel, a doctor in Camden, London, became the first woman in the committee’s 100-year history to be elected as chair in November 2021.

But she was forced to take absence in March because of the committee’s toxic culture, according to doctors’ magazine Pulse.
