Dubai has been crowned the most popular destination in the world for the third year running by the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for destinations.

The winners for the 2024 awards were identified based on the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings specific to several award subcategories from travellers on Tripadvisor for accommodations, restaurants and things to do in destinations worldwide over the 12 months between October 2022 and September 2023.

Britannia named the UK’s worst hotel chain for TENTH year running by Which? – and Premier Inn is No1

Britannia has been named the UK’s worst large hotel chain by Which? for the 10th year in a row.

Its dismal reputation has been further cemented following an annual survey by Which? that asked respondents to assess 35 chains across 10 key categories, including bed comfort, food, customer service, ‘description matches reality’, and Wi-Fi. Britannia, which has an average room price of £119, scores just two out of five stars across every category.

The best fine-dining restaurants have been named by Tripadvisor, with The Old Stamp House Restaurant in the Lake District rated number one in the UK and the world for the second year running.

The Michelin-starred Cumbrian eatery has been awarded the accolade as part of Tripadvisor’s 2022 Travellers’ Choice ‘Best of the Best’ Restaurants Awards, which are decided by an algorithm that analyses the millions of reviews and ratings collected in a year from travellers around the world.

The Ffestiniog Railway, which cuts through the countryside in Wales, is Europe’s No.1 scenic train line.

Es erhielt nur zwei von fünf Sternen für die Sauberkeit, und seine Badezimmer erhielten nur einen Stern, wobei der Verbraucherchampion sagte, dass ein Gast in seinem Britannia-Zimmer „überall Flecken“ fand.
