The children left in agony because the NHS refuses to take out their tonsils: It’s a simple procedure that was once routine… but cost-cutting measures are seeing patients denied the op

Thousands of children are being denied surgery that would prevent them from needlessly suffering from tonsillitis every year.

Strict NHS guidance has prevented many patients from undergoing the procedure, known medically as a tonsillectomy, since 2018 in a bid to save money.

As a result, seven-times fewer patients are undergoing the surgery now compared to the fifties, despite a landmark study last year finding that the op, which is most commonly offered to children, is both clinically and cost effective.

The Montlake Spite House located at 2022 24th Ave E in Seattle was built in 1925 and it has been likened to a wedge of cheese or pie due to its tapered shape.

FAA introduces measures to enhance safety disclosure after Boeing 737 Max controversy

The Federal Aviation Administration, which was heavily criticized for the way it approved the Boeing 737 Max before two deadly crashes, says it is more clearly explaining the kind of critical safety information that must be disclosed to the agency.
