„The Zone of Interest“ findet Banalität im Bösen von Auschwitz

Fixed savings interest rates ‘may have peaked’ – top deals on offer today | Personal Finance | Finance

With a surge in savers opting for shorter-term fixed rates, experts warn many may have “missed out” on locking in the highest interest rates seen for 15 years by avoiding three or five-year deals.

The New York Fed President Sees Interest Rates Coming Down With Inflation
The third thing is that — I think our monitoring of these markets, and study of these markets, has taken lessons from that experience. Even then, we focused a lot on market intelligence and things, but now we have a lot more analytical tools that can tell us — what are some of the warning signs, that even though markets are functioning well, there are signs that interest rates are getting more sensitive to the daily ups and downs. There’s
How Long Will Interest Rates Stay High?
Dr. Alice Mills was thinking of selling her veterinary practice in Lexington, Ky., this year, but she decided to put the move off because she worried that it would be difficult to sell in an era of rising interest rates.
“In a year, I think that there’s going to be less anxiety about the interest rates, and I’m hoping that they’re going to go down,” Dr. Mills, 69, said. “I have to put my faith in the fact that the
Bank of England’s interest rate hikes ‘make no difference’ to inflation, analyst warns | Personal Finance | Finance
The Bank of England’s decision to increase the base interest rate to 5.25 percent will have no effect on inflation while making life worse for thousands of Britons, a group has warned.
Laith Khalaf, head of investment analysis at AJ Bell, said: “Its own numbers show that more interest rate hikes will make almost no difference to inflation in the medium term.
“But they will of course inflict more pain on consumers and businesses, and in particular mortgage holders.
