Christopher Nolan gewann am Samstagabend den Hauptpreis bei den Directors Guild of America Awards und erhielt damit seinen ersten DGA Award für das Historienepos Oppenheimer.
Vergangene Leben Regisseurin Celine Song gewann den Michael Apted Award für ihren ersten Spielfilm. Song nahm die Auszeichnung entgegen und versprach, „so lange ich kann weiterhin Filme zu drehen – ich verspreche, weiterzumachen.“ Mstyslav Chernov gewann für seinen Oscar-nominierten Dokumentarfilm 20 Tage in Mariupol.
