The original mount had three claws on each of those curiously short front arms; when paleontologists concluded that the T. rex had only two claws, one was plucked off each arm. In the early nineteen-nineties, more changes were made. The pose was altered. Its head and neck were lowered, so that it now looks more like a magnificent, giant, running chicken.
