Lewis Hamilton was penalised by the FIA after colliding with Sergio Perez during Saturday’s chaotic sprint event.
Max Verstappen managed to claim the spoils by fending off Oscar Piastri after the start of the session was delayed, with a huge downpour soaking the grid just moments before the lights were set to go out.
The two drivers swapped positions amid a gaggle of early pit stops before Verstappen regained the advantage following a brief safety car period after Fernando Alonso crashed at Pouhon.
Perez was then forced to retire after suffering damage while battling with Hamilton, who was given a five-second time penalty for causing a collision.
