He was 31 years old and was due to serve a sentence of 23 months in prison. Monday afternoon, a prisoner of Vannes (Morbihan) was found dead in his cell. The prison administration states that the man was discovered hanged. An autopsy was performed on Tuesday to determine the circumstances of the death. “It confirms the thesis of suicide and excludes any intervention by a third party”, specifies the public prosecutor of Vannes François Touron.
The victim is a 31-year-old man. Incarcerated since March 19 for several convictions, he was to serve a total sentence of 23 months in prison. Last summer, a 35-year-old man ended his life at the same establishment.
