Karine d’Orlan declares having co-created this place for ecological reasons: “It is estimated that a constructed set represents approximately 15 tonnes of waste, she specifies. A 2020 study also indicates that the cinema generates 1.7 million tonnes of CO² and that the sets alone represent a quarter of this pollution. »

According to her, “60% of the sets in a film are made up of ‘set sheets’ – false retractable walls – so it’s important to stop throwing them away and do something with them, because it’s wood and that wood is burning all over the planet! We make this resource available to those who need it”.

Customers of the Ressourcerie du Cinéma, located in theMozinor plant in Montreuil, have very varied profiles: “We are aimed at professionals, but not only those in the cinema business; we thus offer equipment to the construction industry, to craftsmen, to interior designers… and even to private individuals, who come from time to time to buy parts from us such as doors, windows, accessories”, adds the co-founder. .
