The Düsseldorf-based Droege Group has withdrawn from the bidding race for the insolvent department store chain Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof. The provisional insolvency administrator Stefan Denkhaus and the management team of Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof had already been informed on March 11th “that the Droege Group was withdrawing early from the sales process and would not make a binding acquisition offer,” a spokeswoman told the SZ on Wednesday. She denied information from company circles that Droege was one of the last two remaining interested buyers.
